Modells over saturated their stores with BS clothing, the off brands.
Back in the days, big yank and Levi's filled the shelves, along with the other staples, like champion sweats thermals, socks.even the sneakers were a better deal, off season or discounted real deal kicks, at a lower price. Modells had all team hats too.

Modells is where I got all my baseball gear from when I started playing baseball in JHS
I got my first weight lifting bench and free weights there. My dad bought me gear and sports equipment from them. Loved that they had weights, bats, balls, and clothing. Lots of stuff. I swim got my goggles and caps as well as bike helmets. Online shopping did not match it.
