At what point are people going to get sick of being pushed around and rebel? It's going to happen if this keeps going like this. Most people especially in NY are sheeple that will do whatever the government wants. But there are enough that won't that will make it interesting.

Not sure about that. You still need food trucks to come into the city to replenish supermarkets, grocery stores,pharmacies, etc. Only essential trucks allowed into the city.
Even with a total lockdown, it will take at least a weekfor the curve to flatten... all actions are taking way behind the curve...
Italy is about to complete its third week of increasingly severe lock down and the curve has been flattening, stuck around 6,000 new reported cases day for seven days now.
Hopefully starting next week the number of new reported cases will begin to decline.
If not, then one could conclude that the virus is more serious than advertised and/or that strict quarantines are indeed necessary.
