Walking on pavement or grassy area's is extremely easier than walking on loose sand. On loose sand one can easily lose one's footing. Don't confuse walking on beaches with walking on boardwalks.

As one get's older, the amount of vitamin D one need's increases requiring supplements. Running on shoreline sand rather than mid-beach sand is much easier and also has a less chance of getting a sprained ankle. Unless you're doing a sun up run, a beach run becomes a tactical run as people become hurdles you need to get around.

Yea, Get a life. It's beach related for those of us who actually use them instead of those who simply need to complain about everything and don't. Not every single comment in a thread needs to be all negative and pessimistic.

I live on the beach. Of course we’re complaining about authoritarians closing them on us.

You do know you work for them and have control of people before they cross from pavement onto actual beach (unless something has changed, parks dept controls beaches)? For the most part LEO's don't waste their time giving out tickets or arresting people who venture who further out. Driving onto the beach usually is a different story, but I used to have permit to do that.
