It's not about being pro-landlord. Landlords are not just collecting rent - they are also paying property taxes - the highest in the nation, for garbage removal, sewage, gas, maintenance workers and maintenance itself.

Personally, I don't have the conscience to live rent free, as Omar and AOC are proposing. What would be a better solution is to cut off the salaries of all politicians for two reasons:

1. So that landlords don't have to pay property taxes (taxes that go to pay for politician's salaries)
and 2. So that politicians can also feel the strain of not being paid, and take more seriously reopening the State.

There is actually a petition out there for landlords regarding the subject - many are not having an easy time with this:

Expect a lot of apartments to be really run down. Hopefully won’t look like the south Bronx circa late 60s-early 90s
