What makes you think the help doesn’t go with them?

Exactly, if someone can fly 8500 miles from the Philippines to NYC, they can go an extra 100 miles in any direction

Record Number of NYC Renters Looking to Sublet Their Apartment in Light of Pandemic

New York City, the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, has experienced unprecedented health, economic, and social disruptions over the last two months. Based on RentHop’s apartment listing data, it now appears a record number of NYC renters are looking for subletters to take over their leases – early evidence the city may be seeing an outflow of residents to the suburbs or other metropolitan areas.

The neighborhoods that saw the most significant spikes in new sublets this month were the Theater District (267% above average), Astoria (267%), Yorkville (255%), Greenpoint (200% increase), Williamsburg (200% increase), the West Village (165% increase), and Battery Park City (160% increase).

Another reason to leave NYC - protests during a pandemic

Quote:
Union Square crowds chanted anti-police brutality refrains, including "I can't breathe" — the words Floyd said while he was cuffed and pinned to the ground for nearly 10 minutes, the cop's knee on his neck
Another demonstration is planned at Foley Square Friday afternoon; the family of Eric Garner, who died after uttering the same phrase in police custody years ago, is expected to attend

At least 70 people were arrested as throngs of protesters in New York City joined demonstrators across the country Thursday in speaking out against police brutality in the wake of a black man's death in Minneapolis.

One of the protesters arrested during the hours-long Justice for George Floyd demonstration in Manhattan punched an officer in the face, while another was carrying a knife, officials said. A third person threw a garbage can at an officer, striking him in the head, police said.

Two officers were injured during the demonstrations, police said. It wasn't clear if any of the demonstrators were hurt.

The protests began Thursday afternoon, with crowds of people gathering in Union Square chanting different refrains against police violence, including "I can't breathe" — the words Floyd said while he was handcuffed and pinned to the ground for almost 10 minutes, the officer's knee on the back of his neck.

The protests are all over, not just NYC. And they're for good reason.

If you think protests are a "reason to leave NYC" you never belonged here to begin with.

Protests? Lol they’re burning brooklyn right now over something that happened 1000 miles away.

God bless the cops fighting the good fight right now. Hopefully lots of “protesters” go home messed up bad after this. If they spill into my neighborhood, punishment will be meted out.
