Thugs get hungry too.

As the great Method Man said "Protect Ya Neck".

Walked past 7 Eleven on Third near 82nd; tons of NYPD both marked and unmarked; place got jacked at around 10PM which is rather early, but those sort of places are always being hit.

Not only nothing to fear but there is an entire political constituency of elected officials and voters in NYS and NYC that actively support the criminal class. There really is a thug lobby in the state and city governments.

Seeing how car thefts are up 62.7% I'm not surprised that car break-ins are up too. BTW who is stealing cars when there is no place to go? Believe it or not in many precincts there is the problem of car owners leaving their cars unlocked in their own driveways. It happened to one of my neighbors, the thugs got a phone charger and some loose change.

I assume some cars are stolen for their parts. As far I understand car repair shops are considered essential services and are open.

Agreed. There is a strong correlation, AND the US has a lack of a true safety net for people who fall on hard times. The answer is more complicated though...

It’s strange cause Miami actually had no murders throughout this covid 19 shut down.

I have an idea for how to avoid becoming a victim of crime in NYC in 2020: if a criminal tries to mug you, pretend to have a huge fit of dry cough. Cough right into the mugger's face (which is kind of worse than mace right now) - maybe he gives up the mugging attempt and runs?

It's very possible that this is true.

Whether you're left wing or right wing or whatever any of those things even mean how can crime conceivably be up ?

On a given day last year in April around this time there are about 15,000,000 to 20,000,000 people in motion. Working, vacationing, touristing etc

There are only about 50,000 to 200,000 people in motion but there are MORE crimes occurring? That's about 1% of the number of people out last year but more crime ? The crime percentages would seem like just stepping outside of your residence you're an automatic victim.

Even by the statistics staying inside your home you're not safe. Is there a wild group of Alcapone Jrs. running around with Tommy guns raiding peoples houses?

There have been a few more murders but how can robberies be up ?

How can burglaries be up ?
Like it or hate it,the following is only my opinion:

Vote Democratic get Democratic Results...........................
