The politicians are lucky that the weather has been terrible, otherwise there would be massive non-compliance if we had typical spring weather.
Saturday and yesterday there were people sitting in folding chairs in my nearby mall parking lot. They were practicing social distancing. People just want to be outside when it’s nice and a lot don’t have a backyard etc.
I will tolerate it as long as the people who work in hospitals are overwhelmed. I do this to keep them more safe. I now have the freedom to go to restaurants and other places but choose not to.
I only wear a mask if forced by the shop since, like some of you have already said, it is not their fault. But on the street? GTFOH. I keep my distance from people already and avoid any gatherings. I'm not going to wear a mask outside just because some people think they know it all when it is clear to many that in fact, they do NOT know what they're doing. First they said "face masks don't help", now this bs, what's next? I don't take politicians seriously. They are utter fools. By the way, I don't ever see CUOMO wearing a mask or De Blasio!
I wear a mask in the stores and outside ONLY if I'm near people. No one loves this quarantine. What a stupid thing to say. I just want to know when I can get on a plane safely again and be able to use public restrooms so I can go for long drives again which I love to do and miss terribly.
Out in the country at large, this hasn't been a big issue. They're wondering why we're intentionally imploding the economy for what they see as a slightly worse than normal flu season.
As usual, NYC/S has the most government intervention and the most problems. This seems to be a recurring theme.

The economy can handle a pause. Human lives are more important. At least DeBlasio eventually came around (although it took an act of the governor to get him to close schools); our president is putting dollars above deaths and it sucks.
how about the prolonged locked down causing loss of human life? Chaos, riots, rise in crime, starvation due to lack of food, mental illness, etc. There are a lot of indirect damage from the lockdown. NYC are losing tax revenue that will cripple its ability to help its citizens.

The lockdown can easily be worse than the virus
