I finally found a minute to call 311. Apparently they're sending out some kind of letter through September, and then the cards follow the letters. Sounds convoluted... but OK, maybe something will show up in September.

Time to contact the media about this, I'l be making calls in the morning
I'm still hearing the letters will keep going out through September. Someone in my school said they called 311, and were told less than half the letters have been sent. No one's gotten them unless they were already getting SNAP (those families got benefits in early summer).
I received my cards (2 kids) on Friday. I didn't receive any letter prior to that. I checked with some mom friends (same school and different schools) and they also just received the cards. Just to let you know, in case they are mailing by area, we're on the UES. One co-worker from Queens received her card, another did not.
