I was "Quoting" Cuomo. That's how he carries on.

NYS got a nice pile of money from first federal stimulus package. This includes $100 million slush fund that New York like all other states can use for almost unlimited uses including rent relief.

Problem is NY, NJ, Conn and other northeast states are bastions of blue liberal/progressive nearly bordering upon socialist governments. They all have vast and huge social welfare spending programs, not to mention heavy union representation for private and government employment that are costly to taxpayers.

That $100 million would go far in say Nebraska or Atlanta, but not so much NYS where everyone is lined up in Albany to get their taste.

I'll say it again; large issue is that NY has huge numbers of people who are busted to working poor. They were that way before covid-19 hit, and in all honesty will be that way in future unless something drastic changes in their lives. Paying three-quarters of monthly household income towards rent is not sustainable (or even sane), but millions of inhabitants of NYS and or NYC do so.

Then you have the usual suspects that make every and any thing about themselves. As if a virus or disease picks and chooses where it will go.

LOL so do I. I made the stupid mistake of reading a news article today about NYC reopening only to see that it provided no new information as to when it'd open (it was like listening to a rambling senile person). I relied on mainstream media when I should have come right to CD instead.

Fredo's big brother and Sam the Eagle must have a game plan that relies upon huge amounts of federal aid coming NY's way. Those funds would be used to paper over the economic damage these to eegits have caused to state and local economies. Good luck with that......

DT doesn't give a rat's behind about NY because he knows even if he invented cure for cancer he won't win this state in November. Mitch McConnell and other GOP can't stand NY and all it stands for, so that will be that.

Best case scenario is either that Pelosi woman and Chuck Schumer hatch a plot that GOP controlled senate must agree to for some reason regarding another huge stimulus package. Other than that Albany and City Hall likely are going to have to wait until after November elections to see how things roll. If Biden wins and or democrats take senate and hold onto majority in House; then things may be different after January 2021.

In the meanwhile both Albany and certainly City Hall have their heads in sand regarding economics. City in particular should be reducing workforce and making other serious adjustments to spending because money isn't rolling in anymore. They won't do this of course when, unless or until major economic stuff hits the fan.

May 12th Cuomo proposes "Americans First Law," which would require companies to hire back all workers they laid off during the coronavirus crisis if they want bailout money from the government.
"The new scam is these corporations will use this pandemic to lay off workers," said Cuomo

He reiterated this plan again today

With their talk being private, I'm afraid of what the end results will be.
