Bugsy babe, where have you been? They are "immigrants" now. Just like on 1010 WINS crime reports give clothing description of perps but not their ethnicity.... lol
Yeah because guess certain people got tired of hearing "suspect is described as male black........"
These speech crimes will be prosecuted to the full extent of the oligarchic law. Free speech with only approved words will be upheld. You go against oligarch dogma? It will not be tolerated and you will socially, professionally and legally destroyed through all channels.
"Noncitizen". Said it right there in the article. But if you draft/write NYC legal documents as part of your responsibilities, I imagine there will be a memo from your supervisors letting you know this.
Aren’t green card holders “non citizens”. Along with tourists etc.
“Unauthorized migrant” seems fair to me, if you want to be overly sensitive about it. Convicted felon sounds bad to, so should we ban that label.
We have labels for good reason, to help steer resources. If your part of a grouping that involves negative connotation, its label will become the same. In this case, the subject label is completely innocuous in nature. Whether it’s illegal alien or whatever, the label will hold a negative implication.
That’s why it’s called “systemic racism”, from the top, all the way down to you.
It is what it is pal, a statement of facts. When suspect was "white" or "light skin" that is what you heard. Don't see the problem really, you go out to Podunk, USA where population of darker skin people is low and most crimes are committed by whites, shoe is on other foot.
Telling me some random suspect was seen fleeing scene of crime with a vague general discription (male, 6'2" wearing a dark hoodie and jeans), does nothing.
"Last year, the city's Commission on Human Rights issued a guidance declaring that using the terms “illegal alien" or "illegals" with "intent to demean, humiliate or harass a person" is against the law."

What would happen if you used the preferred term, "undocumented'? Is the problem that you can't pronounce it?
How about "undocumented interloper"? Works for me.
