The only thing difference between now and two weeks ago is cops will be less likely to interact with the rioters. In addition business owners by and large do not have firearms, enough manpower or legal protections to adequately protect their shops and themselves.

Until/unless the protesters start self-policing (yeah right, don't hold your breath), then all hell can break loose again. How many times can a shop replace its glass and inventory before getting dropped by its insurance?

Maybe Chanel and Prada could open ‘pop up’ shops in Brownsville and ENY so they won’t have to schlep into SoHo. They would be solely for looting purposes. Let them have at it. Of course they would be stocked with reproductions from China, laced with fresh Covid RNA. They won’t know the difference.
