Hi all!

I took the child protective specialist exam in 2017. I did not accept the interview at the time, however I recently had my name restored on the DCAS list as the exam
Number is still active . Is it still possible for me
Go get a call back? They say I keep my same list number which was pretty close. Has anyone ever had their name restored before and went through this process ?

You can restore yourself up to 3 times as long as the list is still in use. A lot of city workers are still working from home, so everything is delayed. Agencies have not been hiring given the tough economic position that NYC has been under as a result of covid. Even the exams have been postponed since March.

Like above said, you can request your name to be restore up to 3 times, but if agencies are not hiring, nothing is going to happen.

As of now, there is no citywide hiring pool that I heard about. So chance is pretty slim. Anyway, wish you good luck.

You have to mail in your request to dcas st 1 centre street in Manhattan. Try googling "list restoration dcas".

You’ll get a call back ( or a letter in the mail) for sure. In fact, you’ll be one of the first to be invited to interview because your year of exam is before that of most candidates. As far as I know, child protective specialist lists always get exhausted way before their maturity. Trick is to wait until the hiring freeze is lifted. Keep your eyes glued to your mailbox, and try to find a way to contact acs hr directly and ask them when the next hiring pool is.

That’s not entirely accurate. The city has administered a limited number of exams every month.
