Someone run this by me again.... A group has complied a list of LLs who exercise their rights to evict tenants for cause. When you consider how NYS and NYC is so pro-tenant friendly they practically own their homes, getting an eviction order in of it self is a wonder.
Not NYC but here on the Left Coast in my immediate city, the city council lifted the Landlord-moratorium-to-Evict when phase 3 lifted most Coronavirus restrictions.
In the City of LA proper, I believe they are fighting about it in court.
But it's a thing that's going on, and very relevant to Coronavirus-times. It's all fine and dandy if tenants-n-landlords work out a deal, but does that mean mortgage-companies dont need to get paid? skipping payments actually extends the term of your loan and makes you lose money to the bank, in case you're bad at math.
I think Feb-June 2020 goes down as "twilight zone times" but lets get back to business of work and paying rent and evicting people with due process, if life is back to Normal...

This is great. Now other Landlords can contact the Landlords on the list to get a list of the tenants
names that were evicted. They can also find out properties owned by those Landlords. If the address matches
a history search of the prospectus tenants previous address it would spell doomsday. Who would want to rent to high risk tenants.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot....

True, and as a landlord it would be awesome to make the list so deadbeats keep looking when shopping for their squatter pads
This has already been the case, hasn't it?
anyway, I don't feel super bad for landlords who lose a little money, because their super broke, impoverished tenants lost their jobs etc... as all these buildings end up half empty, they will realize the true value of a market economy
I was an agent in manhattan for 8yrs. Yep landlords have list and share it around.
That's illegal now with possible fine of around $1000. But lots of LL risk it anyways. $1000 fine is a lot better than having some scumbag into your place.
gee , here is a novel idea ---pay the rent .... for the most part problem solved!
i would love to know how many of the evictions were for non rent payment and not just breaking tenants chops .
