Definitely has become a tourist bar. Agreed on that. Hopefully they can save it.

Costs too much to Fed-Ex from Iran.
Why would I want to go to an even more moronically religious and bigoted a country than the U.S.?

Is the US really that bigoted? I see it this way: Racism and bigotry do exist at the individual level, but not at the country's level. It is illegal to discriminate in this country. Many other countries support discrimination and actually sponsor it. As far as the world is concerned, the US is one of the best countries to not be discriminated against.

The fact people can lose their jobs over making the wrong comment, or the fact that Stonewall is allowed to exist basically show this to be the case. I think people confuse individuals being bigoted over the country sponsoring it.

I have lived through a period where any recognition of my being gay probably would have cost me my job and once DID.. (Corporate Ameica: Steel COmpany, Chemical companies at the corporate level.)

So yes, the U.S., as a capitalist corporate play toy IS REALLY that bigoted.

The US has made tremendous amounts of improvements. Being gay had at one point been seen as negative, not because of capitalism but because of major religious beliefs - not to mention both straight men and women find sleeping with the same sex repulsive. The last I checked, Bank of America, Citibank, Uber, McDonalds and a whole host of corporations were flying the lgbt flag during pride. They want your money- they will not be banning or condemning you for being gay or for whatever other reason.

I find it very interesting that racism and overall bigotry are seen as a capitalist problem in order to push a socialist agenda. Not for anything, but you guys do realize that socialist countries have been the ones to have committed the most genocides throughout history: Stalin, Mao, Hitler (yes he was a socialist with his "National Socialism"), Castro and Lenin.
