These people are like taxes; they just don't know when to stop.

While this latest incarnation of rent relief doesn't cancel debt, it would force landlords to negotiate and remove their right to eviction.

Don't understand what is the problem.

Those on UI are getting bank when you include PUA, and people got $1200 or more stimulus money. Also Cuomo signed another "rent relief" bill into law a week or so ago releasing $100 million in federal funds for back rent.

What an eegit.

Il Duce signed bill into law earlier this evening.

Obviously the guy along with rest of state/city government don't give a rat's bottom about property owners.

LL's should just stop paying their tax bills since they can't get money from legally owed rents.

This is stupid because tenants will still owe the rent. They just won't get evicted.

Excerpt:
The bill would make it so that landlords could only seek a money judgment from tenants, rather than formally trying to boot them out.

Response:
Hahahahaha......Try collecting....
So basically The Governor just gave every Landlord a swift kick in the pants.
Starting August 20 the Landlord will have to negotiate with a judge a number for back rent.
On top of that, the Landlord will return to court if tenant fails in his duty to pay rent. Three
court dates 4 months apart followed by three postponements and a year later the tenant finally evicted.
Tenant walks away with close to 1 1/2 year of free rent.........landlord on average loses $54,000 dollars.
Tenant 1 Landlord 0.....
