Hey, how do you guys envision the future of New York City?

I'm 30 years old and I've been living in NYC since I was born, but for the first time ever I'm starting to see that my future may not be here. The pandemic hasn't been easy on our city, I feel crime has increased tenfold, and we might be on the verge of a housing collapse etc.

Also, what's going to happen when things go back to 'normal'? Will the MTA need a massive bailout? Will there be fare increases? I can only imagine how costly life will be here in the next year or 2.

Do any of see yourselves staying in NY?

if things get 70s bad economically and security wise and you can tough it out and save money, buy as much NYC real estate as you can...if you live through it.

Well, for whomever is thinking about leaving, now is the perfect time to do so. Otherwise, you'll be in for some mass exodus catastrophic event. Who knows if the future mayor or governor will not allow anyone to move out. Or who knows if there will be a real pandemic like ebola infecting the city making everyone turn into the walking dead!

Walking Dead! Haha that's a good one. What about The Hills Have Eyes?

Haha. I had to look that one up! Did you know it was based on a true story?

NYC will survive. I can't wait for all the naysayers to leave. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

It is all relative to some other place you might go to

- which could also be in bad shape and few jobs to be had

some places are going to be worse off than New York

A lot of it is also unpredictable as to if there will be a second wave of the virus and if so how will NY will handle it compared to other places.

So keep in mind when your lease ends if you have one, and have a plan B and maybe C but not necessarily doing them based on circumstances.
