Agreed. I took a vacation recently to the Catskills and I loved being in nature and seeing small towns. It’s a healthier and happier environment than nyc.
It certainly is. On a long bike ride way out to Suffolk County, I not only had strangers waving to me but an SUV driver who who was about to turn right on red asked me If I would like to go first. People were not angry, or lost in a smartphone. They seemed relaxed, happy. Even in todays stressful climate in our country.
Wave and say hello to a stranger out here high odds its fighting time.

Actually, that´s one of the few things I do like about NYC. I don´t like a stranger randomly talking or waving at me. You are right, where I live now since it is a rural setting, people smile randomly and wave or do small talk at the grocery store. Ahh nothing is perfect. I miss England in this. Nobody really talks to strangers unless they absolutely have no choice in the street.

That's not true as an runner/walker who has been out everyday during the pandemic. Many other people working out wave when you pass them. And i'd say it's about 50/50 with cars who wave for you to go and for them to speed by and turn.
Bad idea, most recreational stuff in the city is postponed or restricted. I think the crazies are getting bolder, several of them screamed and approached me to get my attention but I just ignore them and cross the street ASAP. Plus people's tempers may be running high because of the political climate and decreased police enforcement.
Don't even bother, unless you decided to vacation upstate but I'd imagine the Colorado natural beauty surpasses NY's? Most people I know are going upstate or the Poconos for mini vacations.
I'll be there for three days August 1-3. I'll post again with what I saw while there. I am coming specifically to see how things are since the reopening efforts. Also coming from Colorado! Planning to move there, if it looks like things will eventually be close to pre-covid. This trip is really to check out the atmosphere and how well the reopening is going, maybe look at the area around a couple of buildings we are interested in. Again, I will report back on this thread with an honest assessment!

Colorado is beautiful and is heaven compared to NYC, especially now.
