For the record, the last week for qualifying for the extra $600 is today, July 25th, the last full week of July. Nothing the next week because UI weeks end with a Saturday. Next week ends on Friday.

unemployment benefits must be paid until the moment of real employment ... if you do not have a job through no fault of yours, you must be paid indefinitely ...

A. Indefinitely is silly because UI runs for 26 weeks.

B. The federal $600 bonus ends TODAY.

A. In March when many applied -- It was extended to 39 weeks...

B. . . .and the week is: MONDAY: 7/20/20- thru SUNDAY: 7/26/20).....NOT today....

- This is the last week to collect the $600 on top of your regular benefits.

- If your job (who laid you off) STILL hasn't called you to come back to work,
continue to claim weekly benefits.....

I think they will end up extending it probably not more than $400, and then back pay the weeks that were missed. I have always had a job and this is the first time in my life I have had UI. I'm so happy to have been out of work and able to receive the benefits and stay safe. I also hope I will have the time to find a job I like and don't hate getting up in the morning to do.

However, I'm very aware, the extra benefits are going to have MAJOR long term impact on our economy. No doubt we will have a horrible recession, our taxes are going to increase like crazy, housing market and the stock market will be impacted. I don't understand people, they think the gov can just print more money and that's it? No impact? The gov only has the money the people give it so we are going to be giving it back a whole lot.

Not to mention a lot of people who have the extra $600 are spending it, which is great if you are paying down debts or buying necessities. People should be saving the extra UI if they can because in 56 weeks the economy won't snap back and probably a large number of people will still be unemployed and not able to find work. And those who are working will probably see a tax increase in their paycheck so they will be taking home less.

I don't know if I'm crazy but I think the next 4 years are going to be pretty bad for the economy.

The extra 600 a week is actually being printed by the federal reserve. What a mess! It’s like being in the Weimar Republic. When the printing presses devalue every dollar out there and hyper inflation hits, y’all will then know how great you’ve all had it before. We will be the next Argentina: High unemployment, crime, social unrest, and overall instability. All the spoiled Americans will then know why many people have wanted to leave their former countries to come to America.
