Staff working at the site confirmed to NY1, unofficially, that they were working on a stage for MTV’s Video Music Awards scheduled to air live Sunday, August 30 from “multiple outdoor locations” across New York City.

The stage is being set up along the waterfront in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, just off West Street, but according to employees it, “would not be open to the public.”

According to MTV, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande are set to perform, as are BTS, The Weeknd, Miley Cyrus, Doja Cat and Black Eyed Peas but it’s unclear which performer will be using the stage in Greenpoint.

I wonder how many closed restaurants these privileged few will be allowed to secretly dine in...

Until we start tarring and feathering politicians again, this is how we will continue to be treated...

Yep. But are we so surprised. Nope.
It would've been nice if it were open to the public but I guess...not all that practical.

Aeran shame on you for thinking the general public should get to enjoy something. We get no fun or luxuries.

Evidentially, because of last night's rain, its fireworks show did not begin until 11 pm. It was scheduled at 8 pm which would have been okay, but at 11 pm local people and their children were trying to sleep. There were a lot of complaints.
