Scatman...I am very knowledgeable about Willie's Steakhouse...and I would NEVER recommend the place to anyone who is under 50 and not Hispanic. The place is full of all the 50 something leftovers that never found their special somebody at the bar for the past 30 years..and they are still looking. Everyone knows everyone else...and its just not a place to go for any reason. The food is pretty bad for anyone that actually knows Spanish food.

If you go during one of the live music sessions...expect to bring ear plugs as the music is slo loud you will go deaf in 5 minutes flat. I do NOT recommend Willie's Steakhouse, unless you enjoy a 'Night of the Living Dead" experience, with generally old and very unnatractive zombie like people wandering aimlessly looking for their next equally old and unnatractive victim. If anyone does not believe me..I would be happy to take you there so you can see for yourself..although I recommend against it!

Patricia's on the other hand, the original in Morris park that is, is great for good food..service is not so great though as they have 1 or 2 waiters for about 20 tables..and rely heavily on the Mexican bus boys for everything besides taking orders and paying the check...service stinks...they are trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of the place at the expense of the customer's experience unfortunately. I would not recommend the Patricia's 2 n Throggs Neck as the food is noticeably different and not as good....Tosca's in Throggs neck is the worst of the 3 for food and service...but the place is good for a drink..thats about it.

I think both the Patricia's are excellent personally.... Yes the Morris Park location is crowded, but I've never experienced bad service. I think its the cheapest Michelin Guide recognized restaurant in the city.

As for Tosca, place is definitely overcrowded but it seems good for appetizers and drinks.

The Pine is pretty good too, huge portions of very good food.

Theres a few great bars up in Woodlawn but you might feel out of place if your not Irish, a cop, a fireman, or from the Woodlawn or North Riverdale Area (or all of the above)

GWC,

I will disagree with you on Willies. Everyone in that spot is NOT over 50. Many are, but not most. I still like the Latin jazz bands up there, and legends still roll through.

I have to check out the Patricia's in Morris Park. I do like the one in Throggs Neck.

I had a very pleasant experience at Ann & Tony's restaurant in Little Italy (Arthur Avenue). Nice place for dates. It's a small place, so make a reservation to be on the careful side. Food was good. Good service and decent prices.
