The inside of subway cars are clean now but only because of the 1-5am shutdown & enhanced cleaning once the train reaches its terminal. The stations are filthy though, a lot of the platforms are in need of a deep deep power wash. Litter basket pick ups are now less frequent with these budget cuts to sanitation. The baskets are overflowing with garbage that gets blown away in the wind or tampered with by the homeless.

The free Graffiti removal Program has also been cancelled. Property owners now have to remove it themselves which can be costly and time consuming. It also may be tagged up again by graffiti vandals.
It’s almost like the city is purposely trying to lower the quality of life.

Yep. It was already steadily on the decline since De Blasio, pre-Covid. It just has gone increasingly worse post-Covid. Something Lhota had predicted would happen. And yeah, I voted for Lhota. Didn't vote at all in the 2nd mayoral election.
