The kitchen is too hot so they’re getting out... good
It's not good, it's great! I can't believe I stayed an extra year actually working for you people when I could've been home making the same money telling the truth about how I feel. Although the crazy anti-cop overtime will follow me for life so I guess it was the right choice. I mean dude, you bought me a $14,000 jetski!
On second thought, it's not even great.
It's glorious!
I'm glad the good chief came to the same realization.
The ranks are being decimated by retirements. The numbers truly are astounding. In the past, only people stuck on patrol or in other crappy details fled like this. Now, everyone is leaving regardless of how comfortable their details were previously.
This dearth of experience being created will take decades to recover. Especially since the recovery won't even begin until city leadership changes for the better which most likely won't happen with the next mayoral election.
The people are going to be left with the department they claimed they already had: a worthless shell full of psychopaths who either didn't have the brains/motivations to flee, or new hires who are dumb enough to become cops in this environment.
Can he simply put his papers in and walks away? de Blasio is saying that he is having conversations about Pichardo's future. What does that mean?

It means they're begging him not to do it. Once one passes 20, unless pending charges, they can retire on the spot if they want to. Like literally in the middle of a tour. There's nothing Diblasio can do about it. I walked upstairs out of my office the day after being assigned to a protest in Harlem and told my boss I was done. It was awesome. He thought I was fooling around. Lol
Rough estimate, Hellupinharlem will be paying Pichardo at least $140,000 annually for the rest of his life. Who gets the last laugh?
140k + working security for a f500. Not too shabby, and all on the liberals dime. Good for him. Hope he settles down in a community that appreciate leo's.

Rumor is he is going to Miami PD, so even better. Won't even be paying NY taxes.

I seem to have hit a nerve to not only have 1, but 2 comments directed at me.
Which means the truth, is best served cold.
Look. F all that. Nobody held a gun to your head, and told you to become a cop or to not stay a year. These are decisions YOU CHOSE, and quite frankly, you chose well.
If you truly were a good cop, it wouldn’t have mattered what was implemented.
As I said before, if Pat Lynch were commissioner you would’ve stayed.
We’re glad youre retired. Stay that way and ride off into the sunset.
