Jamaica was not black in the 1940s, so I’m not sure what your point is. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t spent a lot of (or probably any) time there since white flight started in the 1950s. He also didn’t live there, he was just born in Jamaica. He grew up in Forest Hills Estates.
