Vision Zero.....hahaha....what a farce.

Vision zero a setup in the anticipated legalization of weed.
Legalize pot? Laugh..Then you will truly have vision zero.
Dropping speed limit down to 25mph wasn't the answer.
Drivers will be so stoned even dropping limit to 10 mph
they won't even be aware they have hit someone.

That's why there's so much fatalities here vs in Europe where bikes are even higher in use than here. But the main difference is the bikers there follow the rules and they don't bike on car lanes and the bike paths there are much better designed than here. I see almost bikers in Europe mostly wears a helmet as oppose to here some do.

From your article:
Quote:
The surge in crash deaths comes despite a drop in overall traffic, The Post reported earlier this month. Experts believe the two are related — that fewer cars on the road has led to people driving more dangerously.

Leading the spike are motorcycle and car deaths, which have both increased significantly compared to 2019. The number of cyclists and pedestrians killed, meanwhile, has dropped.

That doesn't change the salient point, does it.

Yet another monumental failure by de Blasio. He took a city that saw declining traffic accidents and fatalities every year for 12 years or so and completely jacked up the system by pandering to Traffic alternatives and allowing them to unfeathered access to change nearly every aspect of how traffic flows in the city. No one is shocked by this turn of events. NYC must elect a Republican that can u do the last 8 years of disastrous policies.
Not surprising, Blasio kept slamming drivers but has done ABSOLUTETLY NOTHING, NADA, ZILTCH to go after pedestrians on their phones crossing mid block or against traffic lights
