How billionaires got $637 billion richer during the coronavirus pandemic
Hiatt Woods Aug 3, 2020,

Taxes paid by billionaires have decreased 79% since 1980. And those are just the legal avenues that the wealthy take to avoid paying taxes. In 2017, researchers estimated that about 10% of the world's GDP was stashed in offshore tax havens. A study in 2012 found that as much as $32 trillion was being held offshore by the world's wealthiest people.

I was being somewhat tongue in cheek. However, it is good for the increase in tax revenue. And like it or not when Wall St. tanks, it benefits no one. Most are either directly or indirectly invested in Wall St.

What are you? 65-70? Are you trying to say that the world, and the opportunities you had in 1968 are the same as in 2020? This is not the first time I have seen you cite how you worked hard and you did it, so can everyone else.

In 1968, my parents rented an apartment in Noho for $50 a month. They could pay rent, with money to spare to buy food on part time jobs. My dad went to college in NYC for FREE, because City college didn't charge tuition. I could go on. It's not the same today as it was.

That's the Boomer mentality

You hit the nail on the head.

The economy has been on vacation too long.

Time to get off your now fluffy rear ends folks.
Back to work. Start becoming contributing members
of society once more. New York and retirees like me
need your much needed taxes to continue to function.

Thankyou.

Personally, I haven't stopped working. I feel for people who haven't had that choice. However, Wall street should never been the only benchmark for a thriving economy. Wall Street doing well while Main Street suffers is a terrible metric.
