Awww...that hawk is quite photogenic! Great photo. I've seen a couple of them at the QBG but not this close.
All I get sitting on top of my ac are ...pigeons! They're not as cute.

A red-tailed hawk sighting recently took place on the Upper West Side. Our reader, Jessica Turco, spotted the bird sitting on an AC unit outside of her window, located in a building on West End Avenue between 106th and 107th Streets.

Jessica first saw the bird about a week ago. It’s just returned to the window to say hi.

He’s overlooking that delicious smorgasbord of rat and pigeon!

Hope they don't poop on the terraces constantly as if they're marking territory like the flying rats do...

That's why I bang on my windows whenever I see pigeons resting on the top of my ac. The last thing I need is a nest full of baby pigeons.

I was also thinking that's why you shouldn't leave your windows open. That hawk is beautiful... but I wouldn't want it inside my apt. Look at those talons!

I'd resemble this photo.

Beautiful. We see them out here in New Jersey, of course, but that's a very cool shot of one in the city.

there are many red tailed Hawks in Manhattan. They feast on pigeons mostly. If you look closely you will spot them perched silently in the trees of the upper west side areas. Riverside drive etc.

There are all sorts of wild life if you look close enough. A bald eagle was spotted in Riverside Park back in January.

I once got off the ferry downtown by the World Financial Center, and I noticed a lot of people gathered and looking in a garden area near Battery Park City. There was a ring-necked pheasant.

I had seen them as my train made its way through the Meadowlands, but never in the city before or since.

I've seen a pair of them in Queens, the botanical gardens specifically. They're skittish so it's hard to spot them but when you do...they're a sight to behold. So very colorful!
