I backed the wrong candidate. I guess I forget that Staten Island belongs in some KKK loving, neo-Nazi part of Tennessee.
Happy?

At least NYC, and I, had the good sense to boot out Donald Trump.

We're such terrible Nazi's that we voted out a lilly-white privileged white boy from Park Slope for the mixed-race, first generation, daughter of a Cuba refugee.

Serious question: do you guys really think these labels affect people still? And I don't mean comedic effect, because we all agree, they still have that.

They're *still* counting votes from last Tuesday, but so far things are looking good for several republicans in tight races.

https://www.nydailynews.com/news/pol...2sq-story.html

Hopefully GOP will take back state senate or at least cut down dems majority; but some GD checks and balances on otherwise the liberal/progressive democratic love fest of past two years.

Giving democrats total control of Albany means endless spending (with higher taxes on people who actually earn), more restrictions on personal freedoms with less focus on personal responsibility.

Yeah well SI overall must be doing something right. We've got highest levels of homeowners, household income and several other economic benchmarks of all five boroughs.

I don't believe that the Daily News has a paywall

Remember this was coming from a hardcore socialist who cannot pay his heating bill. Benevolent government failed him and he still genuflects to it.

Good article but it's six years old. I'd love to see more current median-income numbers. Brooklyn is still mostly run down neighborhoods with a few exceptions. But even in the nicer areas like Sheepshead Bay you still have many old walk-up apartment buildings filled with lower median-income people.

NYC's high homeowership neighborhoods are generally it's best.

SI also has the lowest crime rate in NYC - https://www1.nyc.gov/assets/nypd/dow...en-us-pbsi.pdf
