No kidding. How can you possibly enforce this?

The civil war over the great reset will begin with whether or not the police and military follow their orders. Lockdowns - unconstitutional, mask mandates - unconstitutional. Change my mind.

Haven’t the NYC sheriffs been the ones breaking up large gatherings? I don’t think the NYPD has been enforcing covid rules for months, it’s been the sheriffs. Have the sheriffs made a similar announcement?

There are only 150 deputy sheriffs and investigators for the entire city. I highly doubt that they'll be doing much of anything.

They did about a month ago. There was an illegal party gathered in some karaoke bar in Northern Blvd and some entity (maybe it were the sheriffs) called NYPD for back up & they came to assist.

The headline there "Top Cop Says NYPD Will Not Break Up Large Gatherings on Thanksgiving"

is not accurate, he said "we're not planning on breaking up thanksgiving celebrations".

Because you are not planning to do something does not mean you won't do it.

However it is highly unlikely they will be aware of a gathering over 10 people at some house.

But suppose someone called a restaurant and said they wanted to reserve a table for 16. I suppose the restaurant might break that into two tables (or tables put together end to end, two of these sets instead of one).
Potentially if there is one of those big round tables or the whole 16 people together in end to end tables other customers might complain. At the same time they have to maintain 25% capacity.

Advice:

Everybody stay home for Thanksgiving.
Enjoy the company of your family and your friends.
Enjoy your food Give thanks to God and be thankful for being an American....

Problem solved.

If you think NJ local or even state LE will be going door to door breaking up Thanksgiving family/friends events in private homes I have a few bridges on special offer....

Maybe in a bar or some other space open to the public, that would be different. But hey if they're willing come on down to Manalapan, just wait until after I've fixed my plate because a pot of sauce or maybe even a roasted turkey might go flying.....
