Pretty interesting ideas...don't know if how many would be implemented though.

The MTA wants $12 billion to a cover a falloff in fare and tax revenues caused by the pandemic.

It's looking to Washington for a bailout. But experts say the agency could erase some of the shortfall itself.

What You Need To Know:

Transit experts say MTA is likely to get some, but not all, of its request for federal aid

MTA on Wednesday will present two budget proposals, including one without federal aid

MTA has threatened to cut transit service between 40% and 50% without a federal bailout

I think the cuts and tax increase can have an even worst impact on bringing workers back once the vaccine is out. Some workers will view that going back to work is a huge inconvenience and costly. They will continue to work remotely as most workers that I've spoken with are loving the remote work situation. Most businesses already determined the pandemic is a multiyear situation until there are reliable data that shows the vaccine and the virus is under control. So it maybe another 18 months before any change.

Without a major bailout and stimulus bill I don't think many small businesses will be around. If Cuomo and DeBlasio thinks that Trump being out is their solution they don't know jack.

Trump was eager to help sign any stimulus but the senate is controlled by the GOP and they don't want any stimulus without another business stimulus package.

I suspect with full business covid immunity, and another round of tax cuts, a modestly small package could clear the Senate.

Commuters will not be back in NYC in large numbers for at least a few years.

Brace for impact, economically, in NYC.

I'm watching this closely because I rely on transit, dang it. It's my primary mode of transportation. I'm not going to citibike or use the scooter to zip along to my destinations. And uber-ing everything will be too costly. Maybe...I'll have to resort to using the LIRR. Yech... Well, at least I have that option to fall back upon.

Hey, if the income tax increases, I'm out. Decided Boston might be worth it in the short run with my sister there.

Boston is a great place.
Has almost everything culturally NYC has, but in a smaller, more manageable size.

Even if this passes federally NYC would not embrace.

State law supercedes fed law concerning the workplace and labor laws. Thank goodness.

Fine by me, as I'd prefer no bailouts for states and cities self-chosen lockdowns.

What’s ‘fare’? MTA weighs raising prices as train, bus ridership struggles to rebound.
Oh, please. They're totally going to raise the fares while drastically reducing service.
And now, this nutjob is just making things worse.
