"The Coronavirus is spreading despite widespread mask compliance "

Tell it to someone who's more gullible and not paying attention

Religious groups are the worst

Response: Opinion

............but how many people are actually dying as a result of Covid only death?

I give it 4 years........then just another seasonal worry alongside the flu.

There's a reason why people carried handkerchiefs during the influenza outbreak.
Containment.....Smart idea until some knucklehead 90 years later decided it was
disgusting and not appropriate any more. Guess what? Time to pull that wrinkly snot
rag out of your pocket like grandpa used to and play that trumpet loud and clear.
The life it saves may be other than your own!

How would masks for private events ever be completely enforced? I haven’t seen anyone without a mask in a store or business in six months.

Let’s hope they deal with severe covid infections in just the same way, under wraps, under cover and without any usage or burden to the city’s hospitals and healthcare workers.

If they all want to get sick with a virus whose long term effects are still unknown, go for it. But don’t infect anyone or burden anyone who’s not complicit in their selfish and stupid plan.

Seems that a more accurate headline would have been:

The Coronavirus is spreading in the face of widespread mask non-compliance

Yeah that's more like it. The nose-maskers, the people who have big events with lots of strangers indoors. That's probably where it's really spreading. And (I'm shocked to find out) some people think nothing right now of getting on a plane and going on vacation. Of all the things, you'd think vacation can wait a year.

The Post are such hypocrites. They support Trump and his dislike of masks but if these Hassidic Jews have a wedding exactly like the typical Trump rally where the only people wearing masks at the rally are about 30 directly behind Trump for the camera, they don't cover that. Meanwhile Don Jr, just got COVID and 130 Secret Service under quarantine. What about the BLM protests you scream? That is people walking around unlike those rallies where people sit for a few hours in one place, plus many of the BLM wear masks to conceal their identity.

Anyway, no, these Hassidics should not be doing these big maskless events. However I wonder to what extent these Hassidics are going into other parts of the city and spreading this, I doubt much

However

"Within the five boroughs, Staten Island has the highest positive test rate at a one-week rolling average of 3.9%,
followed by the Bronx at 3.2%.
Queens logged in at 2.8%,
Brooklyn at 2.3%
and Manhattan at 1.9%, according to state figures."

I gotta be honest.
The Covid era CityData Forum has been the most boring one.
Zero humor, divide, fear and just an overall aura of nothingness.

Back to diaper wearing hysteria.

Don't mention it please, it a bore over there at all times.
NYC forum had a healthy dose of, well NYC type of crap that I used to like. Cynicism, sarcasm, racism, humor, sympathy and empathy.
Now this Covido took over and the forum sucks a bit.
