Meanwhile, the majority of New York's government officials will not see raises
'Granting raises to public servants is simply not possible at this time,' the commission wrote in a report highlighting the toll of the coronavirus crisis
The optics may be bad, but $25,000 has virtually no effect whatsoever on a $63,000,000,000 budget hole. New York State probably spends a hundred times that on paper clips
The problem with the rich is that it's never enough!
I agree. The more money the greedier they are. You ever noticed that when people are begging for money, it's always the working class people that give them a dollar. My theory is it's because they can relate to the situation. People who are beyond rich are so out of reality they just don't understand.

Response: Opinion
When times were great we were gifted $1 thousand a year raise ( broken down: 20 bucks a week or 50 cents an hour ).
$25,000? That's a $500 a week raise........... That is the weekly income of some New Yorkes.........dang..............
A person of high stature, a person New Yorkers lean to for advice , a person who understands their financial pains ?
Giving himself a huge raise during the worst of economic times? Look to this guy on increasing your property taxes.....................
Unforgivable.....
I say good riddance...................to you entering the twilight of a political career............
