Wonder if it'll work.

An online petition is gaining momentum with over 1,800 Columbia University students currently signed on, demanding reduced tuition due to “exorbitant fees” and “financial hardship” during the pandemic’s economic depression.

Columbia University froze undergraduate tuition at $58,920 for the 2020-2021 semester, but students say that isn’t enough – the petition noting how fellow Ivy League institution, Princeton University, has already reduced its tuition by 10% for next year.

Students want to see a 10% decrease in tuition with a 10% increase in financial aid, and none of it should come “at the expense of instructor or worker pay, but rather at the expense of bloated administrative salaries, expansion projects, and other expenses that don’t benefit students and workers,” the petition cites.

Screw 'em.

No one is twisting their arms to go there.

Don't like the cost, change schools and go to a community college for 2 years.

Right! That's why I'm not going back to school. I'd rather do more affordable stuff online. Only way I'd go back is if employer pays and I feel like it.

Wow...that’s some crazy tuition compare to CUNY or SUNY. Nearly 10x more. No wonder students graduated with a pile of debt.

You beat me to it. Why are the big colleges so expensive? Because students (and their parents) are willing to pay, even if it means going up to their eyeball in debt to do it.

The guaranteed student loan programs should have a maximum tuition a college can charge to be eligible for the loans.

Response: Opinion

Welcome to America cry babies.................
My two hurdles, shared by many Americans were
paying my bills and not enough income to survive.

I got a job followed by a second job.....
when there were not many good jobs available.

Jobs that were beneath most people
such as washing dishes and cleaning up human waste.
Saved money.......paid for school....... and that was that.

Tear down your mental roadblock and self defeating attitudes
Go out and earn a living. Any job....as much as you can handle.
Get used to paying your way thru life instead of it being paid for you.
You will end up a more confident and accomplished person when all
is said and done................
