And it was his riding partner who reported the incident.

I can't read the article as it's behind a paywall. That said, from the part of the article that was visible (e.g. noting the use of the "c" word), I would not have fired the EMT. Termination is a very serious deal, and I am a more forgiving type, especially if someone can be educated on why such language isn't appropriate.

It's sad that you can't call a person out for their behavior. In this case that ***** was being a total ****. The truth hurts. No harm, no foul. The riding partner is a rat that needs to be disposed of.

Note that this was not his first unfortunate incident. A previous one included assaulting a patient.

Yes, there was clearly a pattern, I wonder if some people bother to read before commenting. This guy was a hothead. He wouldn’t (couldn’t) be fired just for one incident, with union contract protections.

What’s sad is he only made 59k last year. Fdny ems is so underpaid for what they deal with. They deserve higher pay in general.

calling someone bad words and losing ar job are so opposite, so big deal he called the lady a bad name.
big deal, its like, get over it, move on.

losing a job is a serious thing, and this is the same with the amy cooper thing saying about the african american man, while we all know that was in poor taste, for her company to fire her, was a bit extreme.
like really????

freedom of speech, we dont have that here in america anymore....

everything here has to be politically correct.

please.
