My first office job was when I was 16 or so that I worked over the summer. Prior to that I worked as a camp counselor for one summer; again a job that was FOR a high schooler or perhaps a college student (my college I believe was a freshman in college), NOT a grown up to support their family on. Just because people choose to try to support their family on such jobs now doesn't suddenly mean that the wages just magically increase. The wages are based on what the market will bare.
here's the thing...

some of you CLEARLY didn't feel the impact of the worldwide pandemic that's happening now, and it shows, because you have no empathy or understanding. you didn't suffer through the recession of 08. grown adults then and now taking jobs JUST to put food on the table, and their bills paid. if it comes down to working in FF, so be it, they're doing it. that unemployment money dwindles and runs out real quick, and is nothing to fall back on
when you're in the middle of a pandemic, or a recession, sh** gets real, and you do what you have to do to SURVIVE

No you can not say that people didn't work hard. You don't know these individuals, you don't know their circumstances. Just because someone works full time at McDonalds as an adult doesn't mean they aren't a hard worker.

Yup, accelerated by government intervening in the free market.

Wait, so you're blaming the pandemic on these people choosing to just get a GED? What a joke... The number of people in the service industry continues to grow. If you have no skillset, there aren't many options but low paying jobs.

Yeah yeah yeah. Regardless, the job doesn't warrant being overpaid.
