People say "reopen" like everything in the state has been shut down for a year. Almost all retail and service shops have been open since June, dining is still open as well with restrictions. Yes, there's been instances where he's done a lockdown in red zones, but as a whole the state has been open since mid June. The only thing that has remained in lockdown are large entertainment venues.
Mostly Manhattan Brooklyn and queens have been closed, restaurants, gyms and movies.
LIfe on Long Island has been normal since June. We went all over tri state area, museums, hotels. Slight limitations but not too bad.
Went to more bbqs and summer parties than ever before. Got to know more people in the area too because people wanted to hang out.
If Cuomo wants to jump start the economy, better legalize weed and hand jobs to attract that high end European tourist who loves overpriced Broadway shows and shiny lights on Broadway.

Bars in NYS have to serve food and close by 10PM, that's hardly normal

As a certified Booze hound, I love bars as anyone else, but bars are not important, there are other more creative ways to get hammered and meet people. Just think outside the box. If you think life is over because bars are closed... well, you got some soul searching to do.

Funny you tell the OP not to exaggerate but you sneakily only show the death rate but not the sick rate, which IS indeed higher than last Spring.
So the OP is correct.
Of course I didn't show the sick rate. If you were in NYC this spring (were you?) you'd know why. Right now we can test pretty much anyone who shows up at a testing center, a doctor's office, or a hospital. This spring, doctors had to fight to get tests for patients that could barely breathe. People who were a little sick, or really sick but not in a hospital, didn't get counted. That case number from the spring is not exactly accurate.

Maybe back in June, but it's January now and it's too cold to drink outside + having indoor parties is considered irresponsible.
I'm also in my 20s, not a Gen Xer with a wife and kids.
