I love the video showing the dog bounding in the snow with his/her owner desperately trying to keep up. Running in knee deep snow is a workout, let me tell you.

Yeah, kinda like sand.

I wish people in the Bronx helped their neighbors. Between businesses closed, abandon places, and lazy residents sidewalks don't get shoveled. I saw this guy shoveling yesterday his sidewalk. Did a quick path and that was it. Next to him was an abandon house. Less then 15 feet of sidewalk but dude didn't care to shovel it. I knew I'd be walking the same route today. I seriously debating asking him to use his shovel and shoveling it myself. Would've took 5 minutes.
What?! I thought the city was supposed to do the sidewalks.
Its refreshing to here things were bad in Manhattan. I was cursing the Bronx this morning when I was out for how little was shoveled.
I def did some ballet moves to get over banks of snow and slush from street to street.
For real. I get tired of The Bronx always getting shade. People were talki ng about how dirty certain places are and I have never seen the Bronx look like how parts of Manhattan does. Again, I'm new but thought I'd throw that in there.

As far as I understand property owners are responsible for clearing the sidewalks in front of their properties. Of course, if a property is vacant, it usually doesn't get cleared which makes things difficult for pedestrians.

My neighbor partially shoveled but left about 15 feet of the sidewalk unshoveled while the rest of the sidewalk on the block was open so I went over and shoveled it. The mailman can thank me if he ever delivers again, last mail delivery was Saturday.

Well at least shoveling a narrow path is better than no shoveling at all (which happens when owners are out of town or businesses don't open).

It's the hood areas that have the problem. They shovel in Riverdale and other parts.
Snow in NYC is nice right up until it stops falling, then it rapidly gets ugly, at least out on the streets. So maybe this will freshen up what we have.
