Bus benches have been removed too. Sucks I can’t sit 40 minutes while waiting for the bus.

I think I saw an article with photo of replacement benches that had no backing and were the kind that you had to sit on for them be at right angle for seating.

The MTA is in a no-win situation. The SJW complain that this hurts the homeless but the MTA has to make the system attractive for fare-paying riders. Work From Home is not going away even post-pandemic so the MTA and other transit agencies have a big problem on it's hands.

Also, the MTA can't ignore crime in the subways anymore - https://nypost.com/2021/02/09/5-nyc-...8365-711683313

Homeless people will just sleep on the floor with cardboard all over the place.

People still sit on subway benches? I haven't sat on a subway bench since the news started reporting stories of bedbugs on the old wooden subway benches. I won't even sit on the metal ones now.

They removed benches from stores and bus stops to prevent COVID spread by close seating.

The problem is that many people have medical conditions where they have to sit down.

There is not even any place to sit while waiting for a power wheelchair to become available.
