Uuugh. IMO if they had a strong candidate they could steamroll any Dem candidates on several issues - sheesh, just for being the same party as DeBlasio and Cuomo. Only, they're still waffling around. Apparently Catsimatidis (the real estate guy) may or may not run, not sure what his quals are other than he has $ to fund his own campaign. And there's Bill Pepitone. And I think that's it.

Catsimatidis pulls this stunt every four or eight years. Since he's got billions and self finances these mayoral bids it's no skin off his back win or lose. IMHO he's getting too old for this nonsense and needs to stop play acting at politics.

There is still time IIRC for a serious republican to enter race, give things several more weeks.

I'd rather be in Yang's position than the others, but still too early--even if we were to solely go based on these poll numbers--to know how things will turn out. Yang has to win at least 40% in the primary, so if he was to get what he's polling, a lot would come down to how others ranked him via the ranked choice voting system.

I'd still take Yang over the rest of the mess.

No true Tiger dad would be for universal income (aka Communism).

Anyone who's willing to vote for a lifelong NYC politician is either a ****ing idiot or benefits from the dysfunction and corruption in some way.

All these lifelong NYC politicos are pure trash.

I don't particularly like him. On the other hand, he can't be any worse than DeBlasio.

You think? I've got a good imagination. I can think of so many ways the new mayor can screw up even worse.

Well, there's less chance of an insurrection although in deblasio and cuomo's case...
