Possible run for comptroller but... not for mayor. Interesting.

Corey Johnson once looked at the mayor’s office as his next career stop.

Now, he’s adjusted his sights to the comptroller’s race, the other citywide perch up for grabs this year thanks to term limits.

The City Council speaker says he’ll make a decision in the next two weeks.

Johnson left the race for mayor last September to focus on battling depression

City Council speaker tells the New York Times his personal progress has led him to weigh bid for office

Johnson could join race where candidates Brad Lander and Brian Benjamin have a jump on fundraising

These career politicians disgust me. Term limited out of one office? Run for the next and continuing living off the taxpayer.

So snowflake Corey Johnson wasn't mentally up to being mayor, but he can handle comptroller?

Give me a freaking break. These career politicians are like taxes, they don't know when to stop.

Look at race for mayor, comptroller, public advocate and many council seats, borough presidents and district attorneys, and you see nothing but career nyc politicians.

Gale Brewer is another one, hasn't held a private sector job in ages if ever, but likes that city check. That plus like the rest of them they rack up pension time.

Thank god the city comptroller doesn't have any say over the Police Pension Fund. I believe it's the only pension that manages itself.

The problem is your have to be a certain type of scumbag to run for office nowadays unless you self fund your campaign.

Career (NYC) politicos are a scourge. These scumbags can't make it out in the real world. They have zero skills and work ethic. Who else would pay then $150k+?

I was going to say, you'd have to be corrupt as all h. And have absolutely no problem with that.
