This block is coming down:

Half of Lexington between 78th and 77th came down:

Corner of Lexington and 79th is being emptied out:

Former location of Quatorze Bis on East 79th is due to come down:

Half of Second between 80th and 81st came down long time ago, new condo has started sales.

Ditto for about same on East 81st and Second:

Further north about half of Second between 82nd and 83rd was emptied out and is being demolished.

Rumor has it that south on Second between 77th and 78th (or is it 76th an 77th) with tons of empty ground floor retail is being emptied out also for development. Sable's fish moved over to Third avenue.

Corner of Madison and East 86th has been demolished for new development:

Three old remaining townhouses on Madison between 79th and 80th demolished and new building going up quickly:

Just down the block and one block south five old townhouses on 79th between Lexington and Park were demolished for new development.

There are a few others but you get my drift....
That last one is just criminal.

I prefer more modern. More form follows function.

Someone tried that at 300 East 79th which went up in 2008, it is a dog of a building that took a while to rent or sell out.

UES buyer or renter at certain price points knows what they are looking for, and it isn't some glass tower like you find further downtown or out in the boroughs someplace.
