It's a deterrent but when someone reports a mail theft or other such thing to the management, they tell you that there isn't any security footage to share with you!

Yup happened to a neighbor. She wanted to see who took her package. Only when sht actually goes down, I can't wait for the landlord/management to get sued

Yeah, I left NYC in Nov 2020.

My current apt has:
  1. Washer/Dryer room on the top floor
  2. Elevator
  3. Security Cameras in the common areas

They weren't advertised as existing in my building before I moved in, but I simply noticed their existence.
