I went to see an apartment in East Williamsburg on a warmish day in January and passed a bar that was really hoppin, so there is still life there...

Still lots of life there. Streets and bars are lively on nice days.

Lol hipster , speaking of that is there hipsters in the Hasidic part of williamsburg ? I can imagine there’s some because they are split up a lil all over williamsburg . Most of the hip nightlife and upscale properties is left of the BQE but I’ve seen some in the graham Avenue area where all the projects are , they probably didn’t realize it was the hood over there because they seen that it was williamsburg lol

You know, that's a good question. The Hassids tend to rent/sell/buy to themselves (it's often illegal, but very hard to prove), so I'm not sure. Hassidic Williamsburg is certainly not like Hassidic Crown Heights, where Hassidic Jews and blacks, others actually live on the same blocks as a matter of course. You may have some mixing in Hassidic Williamsburg, but I'd think that it is the exception.
