Less than a month before the governor’s April 1 deadline, Mayor Bill de Blasio revealed Friday a comprehensive police reform plan that aims to eradicate a legacy of “racialized policing” at the NYPD.
The New York City Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative draft plan includes 36 initiatives designed to make the NYPD more transparent, accountable and effective. According to the mayor, it seeks to institute changes that make the NYPD better reflect the values and diversity of New York, while also decriminalizing poverty and putting an end to institutional racism within the department.
The plan comes with the clock ticking on an April 1 deadline that Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered last summer which requires New York City and all localities within the state to create, pass and enact a police reform program. The order came amid protests calling for an end to racial injustice and police brutality following the May 25, 2020 death of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis — and Cuomo has threatened to withhold state funding for any locality that doesn’t comply with the order.

NYC is doomed for the next decade at least. The NYPD will be more than happy to not have to do their jobs and cater to black and hispanic criminals, which commit the overwhelming number of street crimes these days (with a hat tip to the Irish and Italians of NYC long ago).
The demorats have driven out most of the white middle class so there aren't many of us left. The uber wealthy Manhattan elite are selling, and eventually the middle class Asians will also leave to safer pastures. White midewestern hipsters will only take so many beatings, muggings and robberies before they eventually invade the "new" hip city that comes along.

Don't count out Gen Z man, they're not exactly rocket scientists. If getting robbed garners likes on Twitter and tick tock, they'll gladly run the gauntlet.
Actually a lot of the non white cops in the NYPD are becoming more and more conservative. I know quite a few black and puerto rican cops. The kind of language they use to refer to perps is amazing. I did not know there were so many zoo animals living in certain parts of the city based upon what they say.

It depends who they're referring to. If they're making blanket assesments of people based on their race then they're wrong- if they're referring to the same savages who have been arrested 50 times that deblasio wants out in the street then they're right.

Dsny is very conservative among non whites too. It's almost as if breaking your back for a living does that to a man.
