There is a blurring of the lines between puritan preferences ("I don't want my children to see this filth") and actual physical safety concerns from mentally erratic and emotionally disturbed persons.

Back in the day we had lock ups for the looney tunes, now they are given a voluntary Rx and kicked to the curb to roam amongst us. And herein lies the problem and the difference.

So it’s no longer a matter of living next to a homeless shelter or brothel is smelly or obscene. It's a matter of living next to hardened ex-cons with no support on how to survive legally and mentally ill folks who can't hold standard jobs. That gives a greater likelihood of them resorting to viewing you as a target.

Most are not paying them for sex ..they are paying them to go home after the sex

I lived next to homeless shelter when I lived in midtown. Didn't bother me. I'd rather have them housed somewhere then living on the trains and on the streets.

There's a big difference between legalizing sex work and decriminalizing what we have happening now. This statement is just more leftist normalization of degeneracy. If Diblasio had the balls, he'd push to legalize prostitution so it can be managed and regulated like every other industry, with a health aspect, protection for the workers and clients, and most importantly, the public who don't want to partake.

But nope, just more acceptance of degeneracy on the streets so that criminals don't have to fear plying their trades.

Almost out!!!! I should be sleeping in NJ by next Tueday. Man I can't wait.

Good luck with those property tax rates...

And they have so many laws to protect Black bears but no laws protecting humans from the Bears. I hope you don't live near the woods for your kid's sake.

Ah you guys try so hard but always fail.

Black bears are harmless, but if one decides to get frisky, I don't act like a sheep. I can nearly 100% guarantee that I have been in the presence of, and far closer to, wild black bears than you could even imagine for yourself.

My kids are far better off around bears (which we won't be regardless), than caught in the clutches of the UFT!

And the property tax mantra is quite false as well, something that surprised me in fact when we started looking. On a roughly comparable house in Staten Island, I'd be paying about $1000 more annually. I know because my friend owns a very similar house, minus the second garage door and about 30' of backyard that I'll be enjoying in NJ.

I will admit that NY's veteran credit is better, but I can deal with that.

You know I'd honestly pass black bears when I'm out talking a walk everyday then half these people I pass on the streets.

.
I sincerely hope you don't eat those words. If it's burly enough it can withstand one 12 gage round and keep charging. And if you manage to end it be prepared for endless paperwork and an investigation along with hefty potential fines or worse if "they" come to the conclusion you didn't need to do that.

Just legalize and regulate already. It makes little sense to have this in the dark and it's probably murky territory for law enforcement to be able to ascertain what is just sex work that is decriminalized and what is coercion. This in-between stuff is maybe at least a good signaling of future legalization, but on a practical level, may just lead to more issues.
