Now parades, I don't miss. Especially the Puerto Rican Day Parade. I have nothing against Puerto Ricans. They're a friendly, warm, fun loving bunch that like to squeeze you to death and yep, I like hugs. But...! any parade that shuts down the whole city so you can't maneuver anywhere is a pain in the butt.
Plus, that parade always coincides with my company's annual finance meeting (which means we all have to put in a day's work at the office) and yep, we all wind up getting stuck somewhere in the city due to the parade.

Mayor Bill de Blasio joined a small group of Irish-Americans to celebrate their pride in a very minimal way today, with a scaled-down Saint Patrick’s Day parade in the early hours of the morning.
