"Gimme the weed, the good ganja weed"

Weed should have been legalized ages ago. We all smoke it especially now that it is busy season. Nothing relaxes your mind moreafter working 12+ hours. We need to criminalize tobacco products.

Some of y'all would have been tons of fun during prohibition as teetotalers... and by fun, I mean not at all!

I have no interest in smoking and the smell turns me off, but gimme all the edibles!

Ya'll comparing weed to alcohol crack me up. Two very different things.
And anyone with a addictive personality will have issues with anything.

Then there most likely will be squabbles in future over pots of money generated by all this legal weed.

Oh there will be no end of unforeseen consequences.

I think one thing to consider is that New York state is far from the first place to have legalized weed if this indeed happens. Thus far, there's little evidence of a reasonable correlation between legalization and a descent into the abyss compared to places that do not allow weed use.

Another thing to consider is that a lot of people don't necessarily smoke weed.

bad idea--all this revenue talk is nonsense...the money will be wasted like it always is.

This is what Democrats do in blue states...they create new taxes--then claim that the money will go to "good use" like saving pink bunnies or something...then the money disappears and the problems that were intending to solve are still there. Then they come up with "new" tax revenue streams and start all over again.

When you legalize and commercialize a substance like weed--you get things like K2...don't know what that is? Go take a visit to Broadway and Mrtyle Ave in Brooklyn....walk around for about 5 minutes.

What are you talking about, K2 came out when weed was illegal, so how exactly did legalization of weed introduce K2? K2 was invented specifically for the purpose of achieving a weed high and not having it show up on a drug test. The criminalization of weed actually led to K2 production. Why do you think anybody would smoke fake weed?

At the end of the day people are more comfortable with alcohol and cigarettes than they are with weed, even though alcohol and cigarettes are way more deadly. It is what it is. Weed's been around thousands of years and people refuse to even try it, but they'll run out and get a needle in their arm for a vaccine that just got created with unknown side effects, make it make sense somebody!
