TurboVax is a website to follow that frequently updates citywide appointments.

Can also follow Twitter and select notifications from those posting vaccine updates.

Although IMO just picking a source and refreshing works. I got my Rite Aid appointment for the next day doing this method.

There are sites that scrape from multiple sources which seem to offer a better and more responsive update for when and where vaccines are available. There's turbovax, nycvaccinelis, and probably others.

Another idea - google pop-up vaccination clinics. Some of them have eligibility restrictions, but if you call them they might have walk-in appoinments (if not enough people are showing up for example). They do not show up on the NY Vaccine Finder website.

Thanks for the tips and I just saw some availability at a convenient distance
I'm not necessarily in a hurry but I had my heart set on Johnson & Johnson, (one dose - old school vacc not the new RNA )

Anyway they just had a huge recall (estimates are 15 million doses)

Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine batch fails quality check
march 31

(AP) - A batch of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine failed quality standards and can’t be used, the drug giant said Wednesday.

The drugmaker didn’t say how many doses were lost, and it wasn’t clear how the problem would impact future deliveries.

A vaccine ingredient made by Emergent BioSolutions — one of about 10 companies that Johnson & Johnson is using to speed up manufacturing of its recently approved vaccine — did not meet quality standards, J&J said.
the FDA said the company hadn’t corrected “continued low level mold and yeast isolates” found in the facility.

Now I'm a little paranoid if they really did get rid of the huge number of doses and take the loss
