Starting next week, restaurants and bars can stay open one hour later, but must continue to comply with COVID-19 restrictions such as limiting capacity, and requiring customers to purchase food with drinks.

“We are going to extend the 11 p.m. curfew for food and beverage to midnight. That will go into effect this Monday, April 19,” Governor Andrew Cuomo said at the briefing.

But critics say the rules don’t seem to be based on any sound science.

The Democratic state egislature has the ability to overturn the governor’s curfew, but has shown no interest in doing so. Drat.
The Dems would probably make the rules more strict if anything

Yes thank god. I was at a bar last weekend, no food necessary. And no issues getting into restaurants ever, even on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Could you sit AT the bar? No. We want to sit AT the bar.

"Barside seating will prohibited at all hours."

True. It wasn't so bad though. The bar we went to had tables of 4-6 set up throughout the open area that constitutes the entire place. It's definitely not a set up that works for sitting alone at a bar like in the old days, but it works for groups.

With pool halls being no curfew, this is all a joke. Cuomo doesn't even know what he's doing. Hell, they should take this opportunity to allow 24/7 if places so choose like I've seen in other countries.
