Italian pizza sauces are typically less seasoned than Italian American sauces.
Is there a spot that has authentic Italian style pizza that sells by the slice?
Not that I know of. All of the authentic Italian places I go to serve personal size pizzas or ones you can share. I used to get pizza by the slice often all over Italy, be it in Veneto or in Campania, but I have yet to come across an authentic place like that here in NYC. If you're serving mainly pizza, you need to make enough to cover the rent and pay the employees, so that could be why. Rents in NYC are high compared to most of Italy.
As for the seasoning, Italian pizza is just more simple. Having lived in the North, I much prefer white pizzas to red pizzas (the South tends to be more big on tomato sauce dishes and red pizzas), but overall, the style is different. The classic Neapolitan pizza I've had in Naples. Thin crust, some toppings, but nothing that overloads the pizza. The way it should be. More important is the quality of the ingredients. The best basil, mozzarella di bufala, etc. That's what makes the pizza good and cooked in a nice wood fired oven where possible, so the pizza is ready in a few minutes.
Nobody ever sells fish pizzas anymore. What a shame! Not like the old days. Anchovies and sardines where are you? Or clams and squid. Not even in Staten Island. I have to go to Connecticut these days to get my fix. Large Portuguese populations there who still revere fruta di mare.

Not sure what you're talking about. Every place I frequent makes personal pies, fresh out of the oven, right here in NYC.

I'm talking about walking into a pizzeria store and finding anchovie slices like you would with pepperoni, sausage, or some other standard topping. Not placing a special order. I have also spoken to pizzeria workers who complained that seafood toppings tend to leave a fishy aroma around the other slices so they had to dedicate an extra oven shelf just for it.

the Italians may have invented pizza but they are stuck in tradition, more innovative gourmet fare from Krave It
Superbowl pizza at Krave it, made once a year
pigs-in-a-blanket crust, mozzarella , cheddar, chili con carne, sliced hot dogs, Fritos, chipotle sriracha, onions and scallions, sesame seeds and butter crust
wash down with a six pack of Michelob
If you don't like this go back to France and eat asparagus and goose
Deep Fried Oreo Pizza w/ Canolli Cream and Crushed Oreos
they go back to tradition with this one, use of Canolli Cream
Most of them are not really pizzas either. Fried chicken, waffles, cheddar cheese and maple syrup cooked inside a wad of dough is definitely not a pizza. I don't think it's even a calzone.
I don’t know what you call that stuff technically but I got to tell you , I have been to krave it a few times and some of that crazy stuff is so good

what don't you think those are calzone in the corners of that pizza?

that's a different slice. It is not "cooked inside a wad of dough"
Look at the picture it's a slice of cheese pizza
that has toppings on it. If someone puts pineapple on slice of pizza it's still pizza.
