Hello, many years ago I used to eat some very tasty Puerto Rican food at a place in Chelsea called La taza De Oro. It was inexpensive and delicious!!! Sadly, that place is gone. My question is the following:
Does anyone know if there are any Puerto Rican food places left in Manhattan that:
Sophies on E. 55th or 45th (each between Fifth and Sixth Avenue.) Entrees and two sides for about $10, perhaps a couple bucks more with this effing inflation.
You won't go far wrong with either the Pernil or the Ropa Vieja. Maduros and frijoles negros always nice side dishes. Huge servings, so be hungry.

Sophie's is Cuban - there may be similarities but it's not quite the same as PR or Dominican (which is very similar) food.
Wasn't there a place in the West 30s that was good PR food? Did that close or is it still going?
